The role of ideology

Those who consider themselves to be free from ideology will often simply be unconscious of the influence of some old ideology on their thinking. Ideology gives meaning and direction to our lives. Without ideology, someone who isn't a hedonist or a drifter will be just an odd-job man who spends his life fixing whatever breaks down without ever considering where he's going".

Ideology only gives meaning to our life if its a good ideology. A good ideology is one that reconciles with the facts of reality. The reality is that growing up we are fed on a diet of nonsense and energy, and if you shallow it all indiscriminately, or if everyone seems to accept it because its always been done that way, or someones argument seems on the face of it to be so compelling, then we start to grow a second head. It can be normal to be a freak of nature, to live a life discordant with your nature as a human being. To some extent every society has an element of Dr Jeckyl.

Anyone want to comment?

I think everyone is perfect -- perfectly built to think, move, live in accordance to his surroundings.
