Did I have a spiritual experience! Or was I blind?

I have never had a religious experience, perhaps someone who has had one could offer a detailed description.

The closest experience I came to a mystical experience was at my place in Japan. I was sleeping during the day after drinking the night before and coming home (drinking water), sleeping for 4 hours, then mountain biking. Whilst sleeping after I came back there was a strong light coming through the sliding glass door, and there was a 'cross' shape formed by the clothes drying hanger outside. I was in such a restful, sleepy state looking at this light. Suddenly I felt my subconsciousness being sucked into another state of consciousness. I became conscious of this, so resisted it, regreted it instantly because I am very curious. Wish I knew where I was going. Anyway I awoke to see this 'cross'

Anyway, I thought it might be because I was dehydrated or hot under the bright light. I was determined to get pissed again, but I can't get the same conditions to mirror the experience. Anyone had anything similar. That cross figure was a bit ominous!

I think you were just tired from mtb.... you want to get up mentally but your body was exhausted. So you feel like your mind is commanding your body to move but you just can't do it... and meanwhile you have all other sorts of senses responding to your mind.

This happens when people are too tired.

That explanation does not resonate with my experience, but I don't necessarily see this as a mystical experience. I did feel like my mind was being sucked into another dimension, but I became conscious of that, so woke up. I did get some sleep that night, but after a long ride, I might have been dehydrated.
Well after experimenting with pot 20 years ago, I never cease to wonder about the workings of the mind. Thought I was going to die. Hyperventiliating, etc.

When I was younger, i would be half awake all the time... i would always feel someone else is in the room with me. I have been moving from condo unit to another condo unit cos i have extra sensory experiences.

when i am looking for properties, i also feel some eerie things and that will make me cancel the purchase.

Some people have this. some people dont... i think.

My friend in USA told me i should develop this... he has 3rd eye and he can see his dead grandfather... he gave me several books about developing the 3rd eye. i read it but i got too scared that i decided to suppress this "so-called" skill.

Now, i rarely feel anything.

I think it has more to do with your state of mind. If you are feeling anxious, depressed or lacking self-assurance you are inclined to feel that uneasiness in those cases where you perceive vulnerability, whether its:
1. Noises you can't explain
2. Darkness which creates shapes or shadows you can't explain
3. Cold drafts you feel but can't account for
The fact that you can't explain them leads to mystical explanations, which elevates your anxiety levels, creating even more trepidation. I think you are happy now, so you don't feel those things. Otherwise would you posit that the ghosts have just disappeared, or you have lost power.
