Time for the US politicians to get their ass on this case. The bailout package, a collaboration of Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and leaders from both parties, was rejected by the House in a 228-205 vote Monday. Two-thirds of Republicans and about one-third of Democrats voted against the bill.
Matt, This was always going to be passed because it was necessary to stabilise the banking system. Republicans challenged it for political reasons only. Its paradoxical that the Republicans can cause the problem, then reject the solution. They are really playing both sides of the table. Congress trying to look like voter advocates, but really just trying to protect their jobs.
